I spend about one day a month entering receipts, paying bills, reconciling credit card and bank accounts, printing invoices, and entering payments for me and D's personal and business finances. It's usually spread out to only about 1-3 hours a week, depending on the time of month. The last time I did it was all the receipt entering and reconciliations for December and that was right before my computer crashed.

Apparently, it didn't get backed up because the last time I installed Quicken I didn't bother to change the default “remind to back-up after using 3 times” to after using 1 time. So my last backup file is for almost two months ago.

Luckily, I save paper receipts for a couple months (business ones for a couple years), but it's going to be a pain to figure out which ones I need to enter, and then to reconcile all those accounts again.

I was worried this would be the case, which is why I've put it off this long to find out the bad news. But now this month's paperwork is piling up in my inbox.
