I had several weird dreams the other night. In one of them I was trying to do a yoga position from a book but I couldn't manage it. I tried it again more relaxed and with a better mental outlook and I could do it. Then I went from that position into a handstand. It was amazing.
I looked in my yoga books certain I'd seen that initial position in there. I wanted to see if it really was a starting position for handstands because it felt like such a natural transition in my dream. Well, it wasn't in there, neither are handstands. I realized both are probably things I'd seen done by gymnasts, not yoga at all.
It's amazing what my sleeping mind can convince me of. But now I really want to do a handstand, it felt so awesome.
Yoga is a good exercise for me because my biggest physical difficulties are tension, anxiety, wrong breathing, and all the resulting problems. Yoga is pretty much impossible to do unless I relax and breathe properly.
Last week I had those head pains and the feeling of pressure or fluid obstruction in my neck. Then, while doing “the plow”, a position which is supposed to benefit the neck and spine, among other things, that spot at the top of my spine exploded in bursts of pain. At the same time my sinuses popped several times. Shortly after, like within a half hour, my whole body felt great. My head was cured. It convinced me even more to try craniosacral. But I think I'll wait until after my doctor appointment in a couple weeks. I want to see what she says about my problems, I don't want to go in there feeling too good or I'll forget my complaints!
