Almost Friday

I'm still working too much. In fact, I just finally quit for the day at eleven pm.

I picked up D at SFO last night. His flight was an hour late so I sat in an airport diner and ate fish and chips. Since the fish is battered, and I haven't been eating wheat, I got full after two bites.

I didn't bring anything to read so people-watched instead. Out of all the empty booths in the place, a guy sat in the one right next to mine, facing me. He was kinda cute but wouldn't make eye contact. He fiddled with his phone instead. The way he walked and moved and ate was jerky and quick but he had flown in, was obviously waiting for someone or something, and didn't seem angry or hurried. Maybe just ungrounded. Flying will do that. Or maybe that's the way he always moves.

What's the point of sitting so close to someone if they don't want to talk? I suppose I could have been more aggressive and struck up a conversation to fill my boredom, but I'm still afraid of people knowing how insane I really am, even complete strangers.
